President of Sony Ericsson resigns

Najmi Jarwala, president of Sony Ericsson USA and head of the company's American region, is leaving the company at the end of this month. Two days ago, Sony Ericsson announced a first-quarter loss that was lower than expected. Sales of Sony Ericsson phones continue to decrease, and the introduction of a smart phone has not helped sales.

Sony Ericsson is the major sponsor of the WTA tour.

When I saw this, I immediately thought it was Larry Scott only to learn later that it was the Sony Ericsson PRESIDENT and not the Sony Ericsson WTA Tour CEO who resigned. So imagine my shock when I eventually read that Larry Scott was also leaving! You think the two are related? Or Larry just saw the writing on the wall...

It may be a coincidence, Mel--or not. Sony Ericsson has been in trouble for while now.
