This and that....

"I won't dance--don't ask me": Monica Seles bombs again on Dancing with the Stars--graceful she isn't. I expect her to make an exit asap.

Anna Kournikova is being sued by songwriter Christopher Swann, who says he denied her permission to use his music on her DVD, A Date With Anna, but she used it, anyway--twenty-two minutes of it. Lions Gate Entertainment is also named as a defendant.

Maria Sharapova, Svetlana Kuznetsova and Anna Chakvetadze have been confirmed as members of Russia's Olympics team. A decision will be made soon as to the fourth member, who will be either Vera Zvonareva or Elena Dementieva.

The first round of the Sony Ericsson Open features a match between two phenoms, Tamira Paszek and Alize Cornet. What a draw!

Shahar Peer is being honored tonight with a dessert reception by the Beth David Congregation in Miami for being the first Israeli athlete to compete in the Arab world.

The Sony Ericsson draw is quite an exciting one, yes. The Paszek-Cornet "Battle of 1990" should be fun, and the winner gets Chakvetadze in Anna's opening match! AnaIvo's second match looks like a compelling slugfest against Lindsay Davenport. And can Jelena Jankovic take advantage of what looks like a quite favorable quarter to exact some revenge on her compatriot in the semis?

Meanwhile, up in the top half, Kuznetsova may have an interesting time with the "1989" crowd, possibly meeting Azarenka in her second match and Radwanska in her third. And all eyes will be on Serena as she prepares for another fateful QF matchup with Justine. But first she likely must battle past world #12 Patty Schnyder! Or can last year's revelation Agnes Szavay regain her fine form by upsetting Henin? All in all, some spicy storylines, and I can't wait!

I, once again, cannot watch much of it because I have FSN Southwest, which has never heard of tennis; they're showing almost none of it. But I'll be able to watch the Tennis Channel and CBS matches.

I'm hoping Patty can beat Serena this time; she has done it before. Kuzzy is going to have her hands full, for sure.
